One of our very own! Our home bred stock bull is a progeny of Caerynwch Ebrillwr 14th and Brysgaga Menna 79th. A bull with great depth of influential bulls and cows within his breeding.

He brings good breed character, correctness and power combined with good fleshing ability.

Our senior stock bull was purchased for the depth of breeding throughout his pedigree. He has bred consistently to date during his time at Brysgaga.




Caerynwch Ebrillwr 14th

"Ebrillwr" was a proven stockgetter at Caerynwch, Ynysfor and Neuadd herds prior to his arrival at Brysgaga.

Ebrillwr is the progeny of Tallin Major and Caerynwch Gwyneth 47th, who is sired by Brysgaga Seraff 26th. Ebrillwr's strength of breeding was a major factor behind his purchase back in 2017.

His offspring show an abundance of breed character, length and depth of body, plus excellent legs and feet.


Graig Goch Berwyn 75th

A son of 14,000 gns Ysguboriau Brenin 75th out of Graig Goch Marian 30th. Graig Goch Berwyn 75th was Reserve Interbreed champion at the 2015 Royal Welsh Show. His progeny include Brysgaga Banner 5th sold Dolgellau Jan 2019 for 3,400gns, Brysgaga Alun Wyn sold Dolgellau Jan 2020 for 4,000gns, Brysgaga Sheriff sold Dolgellau Jan 2020 for 2,400gns, Brysgaga Banner 6th sold for £3,200 following the pedigree timed online sale May 2020.

Penwernhir Seraff

Purchased privately from breeder Doug Rawbotham in 2010, a big bull with great depth of breeding. His progeny helped us secure the accolade of Herd Of The Year in 2014. Seraff then moved on to become the stock bull at Huw Roberts' Gyrn herd.

Seraff is the sire of Brysgaga Berwyn 45th, Overall Breed Champion at the Royal Welsh Show 2019.

Gwern Cynyddion Erddyn 2nd

Purchased in January 2007 at Dolgellau for 6,800 gns, a big, powerful bull showing tremendous size, quality and character. His first bull calf Brysgaga Gwern was a stock bull at the Castell Herd while  Brysgaga Gwern 2nd along with four maiden heifers were exported to Denmark in May 2009.
Neuadd Hebog 151st

In 2002 Neuadd blood was introduced for the first time into the herd, to bring the quality and correctness associated with the Neuadd name.  His offspring are stylish, smart, and showy.  Brysgaga Mari 47th, made up one of the winning group of three cattle at the 2008 Royal Welsh Show

Brysgaga Seraff 35th sired by Hebog was Reserve Champion at Dolgellau in January 2008, weighing 970 kg at 22 months sold for 9,500 gns.

Ysguboriau Erddyn 5th

A big well fleshed bull with a topping Topline. 
A bull that proved himself an excellent stockgetter
over eight breeding seasons at Brysgaga. His
characteristics have been passed down to his
offspring, showing both growth and quality.

He has sired Champions at society sales, such as
Brysgaga Mari 39th, Champion female at Dolgellau
November 2006.

His most famous son, Brysgaga Erddyn 42nd was
sold privately to Genus ABS in 2003, now one of the
breed's most influential bulls, with his offspring
topping many society sales.

Sire of many Smithfield Show Champions, a big long bull with excellent fleshing and good hindquarters.

Ysguboriau Bleddyn 13th

Purchased at Dolgellau for 2700gns, and out of one of the top female lines at Ysguboriau.  He weighed 1200kg as a mature bull.  A show winner, with a tremendous hind leg, a powerfull bull, full of breed character.

Llandre Llewelyn

Winner of the cow and calf class with his dam at the Royal Welsh Show, Llewelyn brought length and excellent hind quarters when put on the daughters of Penywern Seraff 18th.

One of Llewelyn’s sons was Brysgaga Brenin 44th used extensively as an AI sire.

Penywern Seraff 18th

Broke the BREED RECORD at Dolgellau as a young bull. Weighing 1350kg as a mature bull, he introduced size, power and character into the herd.  With top bloodlines throughout his pedigree, Seraff was one of the most influential sires in the history of the Welsh Black Cattle Society.

Penywern Seraff 18th sired over thirty stock bulls, one of the most famous being, Brysgaga Seraff 26th, used extensively at both the Rhys and Caerynwch herds.
